Joey Gertin

Joey Gertin iis a dance artist based in New York City. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Joey completed his training at Elite Danceworx under the direction of Dawn Rappitt. Currently studying in his final year at The Juilliard School, under the direction of Alicia Graf Mak, Joey will receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Spring of 2024. Through his time at school, Joey has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Aszure Barton, Jamar Roberts, Medhi Walerski, Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber. In June 2022, he attended Springboard Danse Montréal, where he worked with Victor Quijada and Ethan Colangelo. Joey has explored his passion for creation through Juilliard’s Choreographers and Composers program in the Fall of 2022, as well as in Senior Production 2024.  His hunger to create and be led by generous, curious artists continues to grow tremendously. Joey would like to extend his gratitude to his family and friends for their constant, unconditional support. In August 2024, Joey will join Nederlands Dans Theater 2.
